Be kind to yourself

I’ve come to realize that there's a big difference between what’s in your head and what’s in your heart.

In your head you might be saying: I’m not good enough. I’m annoying. I’m too much. I’m too extra. I’m not smart enough or good looking enough. I judge too much, I’m mean, I’m selfish.

But what’s in your heart is another story. In your heart is compassion.

Compassion is simply being gentle with who you are and knowing that your thoughts don’t define who you are.

Compassion is trusting your heart over your brain. It’s listening to yourself and to your heart.

THAT is what defines you…. not your thoughts.

Self compassion is the key to changing your life. It’s the key to living a life with your head held high, with confidence, grace, patience and empathy.

It’s what empowers you to overcome self doubt and anxious thoughts. It’s what empowers you to connect with others.

Compassion for yourself, my friend!

That is what life is all about.

It’s about being soft by leaning into your heart and NOT your anxious thoughts. Your anxious thoughts say you’re not good enough, you’re falling behind, you’re slow or not smart enough.

But when you're soft and you listen to your heart, it reminds you that you are not your thoughts.

Your self compassion says that you can struggle and still be loved.

Your self compassion says that you don’t have to figure everything out right now.

You just have to show up. You don’t have to be your own enemy anymore!

Your heart is where the amazing and compassionate parts of who you are live.

Your compassion makes you strong and is always there for you.

It’s cutting yourself a break, forgiving yourself and not judging yourself so harshly. It’s not taking your past and making it your future.

The next time you feel anxious, less, lost, falling behind, rejected or embarrassed… take a step back and remember that what is in your heart is who you are.

Let your self compassion define you.
